Using a visual language inspired by early 20th-century art movements and unconventional colour palettes, Perez’s work seeks to convey universal emotions: pride in one’s identity, nostalgia for home, and the experience of adapting to a different world. This exhibition invites viewers to feel the experience of immigration through colour and form, connecting with the sensation of being both far from and close to one’s roots.
