FAQ

A tattoo is a collaboration between you and the artist.  We highly recommend you check out the portfolios of our resident tattooists and guest tattooers; as well as their work on our Instagram. From that research you should be able to find someone whose style you like. We operate with twenty residents in our tattoo shop and even more guests throughout the year, so we cover the best of all styles: geometry, traditional, fineline, single needle, heavy blackwork, etching, realism and more.

Who is the best artist for me?

WHO CAN GET TATTOOED?

Our studio welcomes anyone who is over 18 and able to prove so; not pregnant or breastfeeding; not drunk or intoxicated; those who are not verbally or physically abusive to our team and clients to get tattooed.

DO YOU DO WALK-INS?

Yes, we welcome walk-ins, though they are subject to availability. We are open Monday- Saturday 11am-7pm for walk-ins, but we recommend you come down early or call ahead of your visit to confirm the best time to come in. Sundays we are appointment only.

You can either book in or walk-in whenever is convenient- but this is subject to availability.

If you’d like to book: Some artists may already have a busy schedule. It is best to contact the artist directly via email for availability or alternatively you can use the Sang Bleu Booking Online Form. You will be required to send a deposit to secure your booking. Further details on this will be provided by the artist.

How do I make a booking?

What's your minimum charge?

Minimum charge is £100.

How much will my tattoo cost?

We can only offer a final quote when we have the finished design ready. Prices for small - medium sessions range from £100 - £250 and medium - large £300 - £500 (prices depending on size and intricacy).  Large pieces may be higher and require a full day or several sessions. A full day can be anywhere between 500-800. If you would like an estimate, let us know and please make sure you have given as much info as possible! If you have requests or questions, we encourage you to communicate beforehand to avoid any misunderstanding and ensure the optimal result and experience.

How long is the waiting list?

Waiting times totally depend on who you are booking with. Whilst many artists have plenty of availability for walk-ins every day or slots within the immediate days of your enquiry, others do have a longer period of waiting. Normally on average no longer than 2-3 months, with exceptions of course.

Most consultations will be done on the day of your tattoo.  This allows the artist to fully understand your needs and requests for the session and direct drawing time with you in the studio.

However, some artists do work on a ‘consultation first’ system, and others allow time for consultations for large scale pieces.

DO YOU DO CONSULTS?

Can I reschedule?

Please be aware that residents and guests are subject to operate varying rescheduling policies, and the one below operates as a guideline. It is wise to contact the artist directly and confirm their t’s and c’s on rescheduling appointments.

If you would like to cancel or reschedule once the deposit has been paid, the deposit cannot be refunded, but it can be kept for a new date, provided that you give at least a 48 hours notice and the new date is set immediately. Only one change of date is possible. The deposit is automatically lost if the second date does not work either. If we are notified less than 48 hours prior to the appointment, the deposit will be lost and a new deposit will be required for a new appointment.

Yes we do, but the best thing to do would be come down for a free consultation at the desk and show us the cover up in person.

Do you do cover ups?

Can I ask for privacy whilst I am getting tattooed?

We appreciate that some tattoos may require privacy due to the nature of their placements. Please speak with your artist or the front desk and we will arrange for screens to be secured around your area.

1 - Try not to drink alcohol on the day (or night before)

2 - Eat a substantial meal beforehand

3 - Stay hydrated and bring (non alcoholic) drinks, plus snacks for larger sessions

4 - Remember you will be in close proximity with your artist, so be nice and clean!

5 - Dress comfortably and ideally darker clothing to avoid ink stains

6 - Set aside enough time, no-one wants to rush a tattoo for life….

WHAT DO I NEED TO do / BRING WITH ME ON THE DAY?

Whilst we appreciate getting a tattoo can be an unfamiliar process for some and that support from loved ones is appreciated, we unfortunately can only allow the person getting tattooed into the treatment area. Accompanying friends and family are welcome to wait in our waiting room, although depending on the session length and size of the group, this may not be ideal. Our waiting room is quite small and can get very busy. The reception staff will be happy to discuss this further with you before your session and recommend some local cafe’s and parks that may be more enjoyable to wait in.

CAN I BRING A FRIEND WITH ME?

Yes we do use Vegan ink! If you’re interested in Vegan tattooing feel free to get in touch with us so we can discuss the Ink and Vegan Tattoo Artists that work with us.

DO YOU USE VEGAN INK?

The design procedure, the execution and the price is entirely at each artist’s discretion. If you have requests or questions, we encourage you to enquire and communicate beforehand to avoid any misunderstanding and ensure the optimal result and experience.

Please note:
